When we started Seer Mechanical, we weren’t trying to be the biggest outfit in the region.
We had one goal: build a company that delivers better work, hires better people, and earns better trust—job after job, year after year. It’s working, and it’s just the beginning.
From One Bold Move to a Growing Team
Seer Mechanical was founded by Jim Ivey, an HVAC expert with over 40 years in the field, and Chris DeSalvo, a Navy officer and construction leader. Their paths crossed through commercial development, and one thing became clear fast: there was a serious need in the Philadelphia market for an HVAC team that could handle complex, high-performance systems—and do it with integrity.
In 2020, they launched Seer Mechanical. Today, we’ve grown into a tight, talented crew with a reputation for clear estimates, clean installs, and smart service. From VRF specialist systems and rooftop units to residential replacements and ductwork retrofits, we tackle every job with purpose—and take pride in the results.
The People Behind the Work
This company runs on talent. Jim leads the technical side, bringing deep field knowledge across everything from black iron kitchen ductwork to 80th-floor cooling towers. He’s the guy contractors call when nobody else has the answer. Chris oversees the business and project strategy side, applying decades of experience managing large-scale construction projects.
Together, they’ve built a team of apprentices, installers, technicians, and estimators who value the same things they do: skill, respect, follow-through, and a commitment to quality.
